The culture of an organization is put together by many pieces over time and unless the roots of the conflict are discovered, acknowledged and addressed, culture will not change and healing will not happen. The effects this has on employees, their families and career and most importantly, all aspects of their health can be devastating.
Making positive change means being aware of your unique workplace culture. For example, how people treat each other, what determines success and whether leaders lead by fear or respect.
Assessing a workplace culture means looking at conduct. Codes, policies, rules and regulations matter but they cannot be all encompassing of expected behaviours. The behaviours modeled by leaders of an organization hold a lot of power into how people behave. Employees observe, learn from and imitate what they see.
The Jo-Ann Fennessey Centre Inc. can help you learn about your workplace culture and how to make desired change by providing you with practical steps to lead your culture to where you want it to be.
The Centre can:
Assess and analyze your work environment to determine the culture and climate
Lead discussion and focus groups to assess workplace patterns and trends and analyze the findings
Deal with complex ethical dilemmas
Help you manage toxic work environments and employees

In today’s highly competitive business environments, employers cannot afford the costs of disruption caused by abrasive leaders, including alienation and attrition of valued employees, harassment litigation, and retaliatory responses such as sabotage and workplace violence. The goal of this specialized coaching is to help the client build insight into their own conduct, to understand the negative perceptions that people have about them and to understand the impact that this is causing on others as well as on the organization itself.
One-on-one coaching is available for any individual who wants to develop or strengthen their own skills in managing interpersonal conflict. It is a confidential and voluntary process that helps people develop tools to manage conflict.
One-on-one tailored coaching is available for executives wanting to develop or strengthen their leadership skills. It is a confidential and voluntary process that can help leaders develop specialized skills including building insight into their own behaviours, learning more effective communication styles and gaining a better understanding into effective team building.
Virtual training design, development and delivery on all matters as seen in The Jo-Ann Fennessey Centre Inc. Services.
Awareness sessions consist of advising, informing and building awareness to groups and individuals on topics included in our Services. For example, advising employees on a newly developed Code of Conduct, on what is and what harassment is not and on new legislative requirements.
Training is about providing specific tools and skills on identified topics such as how to have a difficult conversation, giving and receiving feedback. Training can involve specific exercises to help develop these skills.
Facilitated group discussions are processes often used to collect feedback on a specific matter to provide an organization with insight into a particular concern or topic. They are conducted to allow everyone the opportunity to provide feedback in a safe and non-judgemental environment wherein all feedback is welcome.
In addition, facilitated group discussions can be used to allow employees to discuss concerns and establish ways to collectively implement positive change.
